A wholly unique experience with complex and nuanced lessons of morality told through shoes.
The style felt like I was watching a long-form version of one of those “PES” videos on YouTube, which both reminded me of how much I love those videos and provided me with the thrill of seeing tiny imperfections in the stop-motion animation. I think you really lose something when the stop-motion is so smooth that it looks like CG.
It was also incredibly darker and more terrifying then I was anticipating. This is definitely not an animated movie for kids.

So, is this the 'Animal Farm' adaption you've been waiting for all your life? Probably not. 'S He' is all kinds of wacky, and whilst some of it elicits welcomed breathtaking moments, some of it is just too much. But this is exactly the kind of film that could leave a bigger impact than you can imagine, so I encourage anyone who is even slightly curious to please check this one out. If you can look past the shoes, there are important lessons and values being taught by a visionary director, willing to take risks - and that should always be applauded.
