I was convinced I was watching this film for the first time, but it quickly turned out I must’ve seen it before and just completely erased it from my memory.

It’s not a great movie. I can appreciate the idea, but since it’s based on a book, it’s not exactly original either. The story itself is interesting, but it could’ve been executed much better. The acting was pretty average too.

The fact that I’d already seen it and totally forgot about it is probably the best proof that it’s a “watch it and forget it” kind of film. It’s not complete trash, but it’s not good either. Honestly, most of the credit from me goes to Stephen King for coming up with the story, there’s not much else here that really stands out.

i wonder if in a few years I’ll watch it again thinking it’s my first time all over again.

I don't know. This was very quick meaning that the story and characters were very hollow. I thought Blumhouse would go for that Stephen King horror story, but instead, they flipped the table over and went for a superhero origin. Don't get me started on that ending.

I don't understand how higher ups allow this trash to be made instead of giving someone who knows how to write and direct money. Overall, don't watch either of the 1984 and 2022 films - instead, read the damn book, that's what I'm going to do.
