I don't know that I would've watched this on my own, so I'm glad I gave it a go because it was definitely an adventure. Karwaan relies a lot on its stellar cast and comedic line delivery, and unfortunately neglects tackling some of more serious themes it momentarily presents. Avinash's eulogy doesn't feel deserved because we don't actually get to know more about his complicated relationship with his dad, nor get any sort of closure apart from one measly diary entry. The film talks about the difference between recklessness and rebellion but never goes on to broach it further through its characters. However, despite all this, it still gets a high rating for how good its main three are together; Dulquer Salmaan and Irfan Khan (rest in peace) are dynamite, and Mithila Palkar adds a nice dynamic to the two. I really enjoyed watching them through all the ups and downs their journey took them on, and I'd certainly recommend giving Karwaan a go.

although millennials really need to find a new career pipeline that is not “dad forced me to take engg but my real passion was the arts so i’ll leave my stable job in my 30s” like where’s your originality

Karwaan is a very cozy, funny and emotional film. The camera work is great which is largely due to the beautiful Kerala landscapes. The first half is a comedic road trip which is pretty entertaining. But this movie becomes very good in the emotionally grounded second half. Irfan Khan was the standout here. The music was nice too and fit the narrative well. A well made and light-hearted family film
