All grown up in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor must lead the resistance of humans against the increasingly dominating militaristic robots. But when Marcus Wright appears, his existence confuses the mission as Connor tries to determine whether Wright has come from the future or the past -- and whether he's friend or foe.

If Skynet sent a note to McG in 2009 saying "meh make it boring" and somehow called it Terminator Salvation

I actually wish this one was better because I want to see more of Christian Bale as John Connor

Honestly Terminator Salvation has a cool idea trying to show the actual future war but the execution is just pretty mid Christian Bale is decent as John Connor but the whole plot feels way too messy and relies way too much on boring action tropes Sam Worthington actually steals the show as Marcus Wright but his character arc is kind of ruined by a goofy ending The CGI and the action scenes look cool enough but it lacks that real heart and terrifying tension that made the original movies so iconic It is an okay popcorn flick if you just want to see giant robots blow stuff up but it is definitely a forgettable entry in the franchise.
