I’ve seen reviews and I think some people went into this with with too much preconceived expectations, having enjoyed the first two films I was able to go in knowing it was clearly doing its own thing and wasn’t here to just appease the fans who just want Dragon Ball Super levels of no plot just ‘punch punch kick kick’ and frankly I’m glad for it. Like most good Godzilla media you need to have decent non monster characters and the different dynamics between the humans and aliens were interesting, this film ties it all together quite nicely I think and the ending was not what I expected but because of what it does I feel it has one of the most impactful endings to any Godzilla film or tv show I’ve seen so far. Yes the animation isn’t ’INCREDIBLE’ but sometimes things don’t need to be pushing the boundaries of their field.

This trilogy hasn’t followed any formulas and for that I’m thankful. A must for any Godzilla or Kaiju fan.

They somehow made godzilla boring. Still cool but an awful plot and just very bad overall. Probably the worst trilogy I've seen

COTEOB will get a 2.5 because it's better than this, yet this isn't bad enough to be a 1.5 imo.

Similarly to the previous movie, it's a lot of cool ideas and themes, that I don't think get explored all that well, but I've seen movies that don't even try so it could have been worse.
