"What is good for one person may be bad for another; what is pleasant to one person may be unpleasant to another."
Bette Davis is way better than I expected this is the second film I have seen from her now and her range between the two is amazing. Another Man's Poison is the story of a burglar on the run and a wierdly calm crazy women who has widowed herself if you get what i'm saying who pretend to be married to avoid suspicion on both matters. Soon a poor duo gets dragged into this crazed mess, as well as a writer who is much more of a keen observer than we are shown off the bat, who realizes the subtle craziness occurring in this black and white household. The film has beautiful shots at times being able to show what occurs outside the house within it as well as allowing us to enter the perspective of Bette Davis in the final scene with a deadly flask. The dialogue is not the most spectacular, as well as the stories progression or pacing but as I said Bette Davis simply takes a mortal movie and takes it to a level higher than normal.
79/100
