I miss the time when movies used to be silent…
felt like a parody despite the clear attempt to make a thoughtful movie. The dialogue was so bad, especially with the lesbian character. I'm convinced the writers never talked to a young person, much less a lesbian or a bisexual. It's honestly a shame since we still managed to get some good acting and beautifully shot scenes

Giant Little Ones
This film prioritises telling over showing, leading to it feeling like 90 mins of filler.
The only things it wants to show are violent hate crimes and heterosexual romance when its aim is to explore internalised homophobia? I think?
Feels like it's constantly building to making its point but the real conclusion never comes.
Kyle Maclachlan is the real mvp here.
