animal farm is my whole existence and gosh i got so much to say about this movie adaptation. the animation and voice cast were fine surprised to see gaten in there (my dustin) but napoleon felt way less terrifying and manipulative compared to the book version. in the novel, he slowly becomes this chilling symbol of corruption and power but in the movie he almost feels watered down, like they were scared to make him too dark or political.
what made the book so powerful was how serious and uncomfortable it felt and every betrayal actually hit. the movie changes a lot of the tone by adding extra humour and a more family-friendly vibe, which i think kinda weakens orwell’s original message. i try not to care about book accuracy tapi sampah sangat that i feel it does injustice to the book. if u want to adapt, do it properly. i got it they tried to modernize the plot cuma seems like u missing the whole point of the story.
its not the worst adaptation ever just lower ur expectations. the original story feels sharp and haunting, while the movie feels softer and safer. i still think the book clears by miles.
