i’d compare this movie to cranking your hog. it’s a good time in the moment, but when it’s over, you realize you just wasted more or less 76 precious minutes of your life

i enjoyed it kinda but it ticked me off. they could’ve went way crazier than this. they could’ve gave the dinos space lasers or something, revealed a huge alpha dino (as implied by the big t-rex skull in the beginning), or even have the main characters run into native human-like inhabitants that evolved differently due to the unique environment. but nah, they did none of that cool stuff. there were like, 3 dinosaur models used in the whole movie. not only that, but their size scaling was terrible and they were weak as balls. the velociraptors in this movie have the same power scaling level as my dog. on the low, the dinosaur scenes were still epic though

flynn was the best character. i don’t know wtf a “lifer” was doing on a spaceship in first place (it was never explained ofc), but boy i’m glad he was. he was ragebaiting everyone, throwing straight zingers, and, to the dismay of the fashion fellas, his carhartt jacket stayed in pristine condition despite multiple dinosaur attacks. he also reminded me of my dad a little bit. PAL, on the other hand, was a stupid character. they were a bb8 ripoff with terrible CGI work. it’s only purpose was to provide the filmmakers shortcuts on how the characters find out the dino planet’s lore and where the shuttle crashed at. LAAAAAZY! every other character was fine i guess

final thoughts? i mean, if you think you’d like this, watch it. you’ll probably giggle a little bit, especially during the slow motion moments (which there are a lot of). and with acting like this, you’ll feel like you too can act in a movie! it’s motivational in that sense
