cinematically speaking; beautiful shots and well captured moments, does it’s job and makes you think about the issues it wants you to think about. it is also all over the place like it should be.
the movie is broken into three movement; first, where you can see how people are disconnected from the outside world, each other and the nature. second, the questions that stay unanswered between children and their parents. and third, it revisits the images around the world which are shown throughout the movie; different lives, different countries and different contexts. these images tell a story of their own.
another thing to mention is throughout the movie godard uses a variety of striking colors and jumbled text stacked on top of each other. mixing the elements of visual images and written text, which i find fascinating. same with the music used in the movie.
although you could say much more about it, subtitle not being easily accessible makes this a hard watch… nearly %75 of the time you have no idea what people are saying if you don’t know french. i do believe that if it is watched with better translation, theres a lot more you can probably understand.
