“you’re just the same as all the others! All those years of trying to protect my brother. And that was the only thing that really mattered! But now... I am the strong! And you are the weak! Now I see you where you really belong! subservient! grovelling! subhuman, as I was all those years! Now we're finding out who stand where, aren't we! You, you putrid scum! fowling the air with your very presence! Now we're finding out, aren't we? aren't we? AREN'T WE?”
i love horror and i love deep cuts : and unhinged is really a good start (i saw i was surprised of the release date, as this genuinely looks like it’s from the early 70s, this is a massive slow burn, it’s filled with suspense : there’s no carnage’s, or high body counts. it prioritises atmosphere over a massive bloodbath, and it definitely works in its favour. it does a nice job at building dread, and that all just makes the final act even more satisfying. the ending is really a treat after the slow pace of the first hour, it’s a shocking twist, and that really just makes the film for me. this film is a gritty, amateurish grindhouse independent film with a certain low budget charm that makes me enjoy it, exploitation films with the most bizarre score and odd camera style will automatically be good films to me. this film is majorly described as having wooden acting, and it really lacks that polish feel. it’s caharcter driven, constant dialogue was a little out my comfort zone since i love films a little faster yet this was still an unique experience, reminded me a little of american gothic, yet just a little less unhinged. i’m a little confused on how.. this got into the video nasties list? could someone enlighten me lol. i thought this film was about right between average and good, this film isn’t good and it takes time to pick up, but once it does it’s entertaining.

It’s kinda grimy and the soundtrack is wild. It’s slow and a little wooden but the kills are bloody enough. Can’t spoil things but it’s one of those… Low stakes watch is worth it but not essential.
