as a horror movie fanatic, i haven’t felt this seen in a movie since randy in scream.

if my friends ever find themselves in a situation like this, they BETTER call me like sam called chuck otherwise they’re fake as fuck.

i mean.. this is a decent meta slasher but i sort of just lost interest half way through.

this film has a decent concept of a camp counsellor ringing his horror obsessive friend to solve a murder mystery, only to find out he’s the killer. the two main characters have quite a bit of chemistry and all the horror references were nice, also the gore is insane! really pays homage to 80s splatters,  and it’s very over the top. one major problem is that it’s just too in your face with a the gimmicky horror references, and it just gets really repetitive, plus it just feels like a weaker version of the films it’s inspired by. this film is predictable and its definitely one of the weakest meta horrors i’ve seen.. like i didn’t need a 5 minute explanation of what a final girl is lol. it’s a very solid, in your face horror comedy with a couple redeeming qualities, and obvious immaculate gore.. but nothing really to back it up.
