In the year 3000, man is no match for the Psychlos, a greedy, manipulative race of aliens on a quest for ultimate profit. Led by the powerful Terl, the Psychlos are stripping Earth clean of its natural resources, using the broken remnants of humanity as slaves. What is left of the human race has descended into a near primitive state. After being captured, it is up to Tyler to save mankind.

Battlefield Earth
If you just tilt your head, all of the Dutch angles aren’t so bad (despite the new pain in your neck)!

This movie is bonkers, but I’ve seen far worse. I liked the creature design. And more importantly, I LIKED TRAVOLTA, OK?! I think the major flaw in this film is a director who was in way over his head and was given way too much money that was somehow still not enough.

Anybody who thinks this is the worst film ever has never seen Tiptoes (2002). That being said, fuck Scientology and that hack L. Ron Hubbard.

You know this movie gets a lot of hate, but there is something to like about it.

That is almost 2 hours in when the piece of shit finally ends

Battlefield Earth
While watching, I kept thinking "wow, this isn't that bad for the 80's."
I then saw it released in the year 2000.
I had read the novel as a teen and I remember it being at least somewhat interesting. Not Dune levels of worldbuilding or character intrigue, by any measure, but at least interesting enough. It's a shame this movie couldn't pull from any of that.
