Honestly probably the best of Lubitsch's historical pictures. Largely because instead of broad spectacle with its epic scale that feels rather difficult to focus on, this is so much more focused on the characters and their conflicts that I just got much more out of it. Being familiar with Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn is certainly a help, and with Emil Jannings and Henny Porten playing these parts, it's never not boring.
