i’m a huge fan of the broadway show, so it’s great to just watch it but on film. i also love that they give a 1 minute intermission as if you really were at the show haha —— early american history is so fascinating, and part of what makes this story exciting to watch is the dramatic irony of knowing the outcome
we know what happens in the revolution we know what happens to hamilton (and they literally spoil it in the first song)
but watching these characters contemplate legacy and desire and how they get to those final states is truly remarkable
plus, every lyric is jam packed and having seen this like 4 times now (not to even count how many times i’ve listened to it) i ALWAYS notice something new
as a side note, i always get chills when G Dubs steps down for the peaceful transfer of power. i knew it was a historic moment from history class, but somehow seeing it in this show with the soundtrack of “teach them how to say goodbye / george washington’s going home” really helps me appreciate the gravity of what he did
