wanted to watch a bunch of queer docs for pride month, and started off with this heartbreaking, beautiful film <3
fuck the US healthcare system!!! trans bodies deserve care, not to be turned away until they are forced to fucking die.
i can't seem to find the right words to explain just how much this film showing the reality of trans/queer found family meant to me. it felt so familiar, but it also felt like deep deep longing. robert's family isn't perfect, there's some unhealthy dynamics going on, and so much pain in each of them, but there is total devotion and care. there is a determination to love each other when the rest of the world has abused them again and again, and that is something i work to build in my own life every day
I LOVE TRANS PEOPLE!!!🏳️⚧️💗
