This is it, I critique so many movies on not being able to create cohesive stories, but this, this is how you build a deeply rooted story without it becoming messy. And while this one isn’t really for me, I can appreciate a well crafted plot with heavy undertones. I’ll start with basically my only real problem except it’s a big one, Boris might be the most insufferable fucker in an animated movie I have ever seen. Now this is for sure partly the voice actor but I feel that is justified. Like from start to finish there is very little development, they give you no reasons to like him then expect you to care when they hit several low points. Now don’t get me wrong, Elmer is a great character and thank god he has so many more scenes and better development, but Boris really brings this duo down making for little to no emotional bests or endings. Besides that everything else is basically good, like I said a very well crafted story, does exactly what it needs to do without becoming over flooded. I will say I probably liked the side characters more than the main ones, Saiwa being my favorite with a rise fall and rise again which was very captivating for me.
Cartoon Saloon also once again hitting on the animation, not as stylistic as the others but that fits more here and it still keeps that mosaic beauty. The music is also exceptional, as it truly saves some of the scenes it’s whimsical nature and vibe create fantastic atmosphere and imaginary feel for this movie. All around this is a solid movie it just really loses me at some parts.
