It could’ve used a little More action but I enjoyed this a fair bit especially the psychological element. It’s delon as the villain against his returning costar from Rocco and his brothers. Annie girardot. It’s a very de Palma esque film. I say de Palma esque due to the intense voyeurism couples w violence and stealing from Hitchcock. I especially liked the scene of delons doctor character talking on the plane about how he wanted to live in the Amazon. I think it gave a unique perspective to the film. In a way his character and the basis of his whole evil plan. Is all bc he was rejected in a place he had no reason to be. I think it’s a very accurate depiction of evil. He went in as an outsider with selfish intent expecting to be accepted. And then when he wasn’t he turns it into an evil plot. Fairly simple and this sort of wellness beauty vampirism concept has been overdone a lot but it’s unique seeing an early take and fairly relevant especially w all this Epstein shit lol.
