I guess it’s unfair to criticize this for being standard since Hollywood was like a decade old, but man is this impersonal, broad, boring storytelling. They must’ve just figured out how to do overlaying montage, because there’s a good deal of it and it’s mildly nice to look at, but most of this is just blank. I did laugh a lot when they reveal, after two characters talk about how they’d feel if they died that day, that they’re on, you guessed it, the Titanic. It’s also not even a reveal because the title card says April 1912 and they’re on a big boat, but it treats it like a reveal, which is hilarious because in 1933, that would be even more recent history so everybody would know…anyway, out of the six so far, the first one Wings is still my favorite. We press on!
