My love for Lady Day couldn't even save this film from 2 stars. Well the acting was low-key there, the story of Holiday is very thrilling and sad, and the emotions were there, but it's all over the place, it's like a James Bond movie and I'm pretty sure I'm exaggerating but you'll get my point, Billie Holiday sings jazz it's supposed to be organized, slow, poignant, and full of emotions, but instead it fit in many many elements in one part, it tried to be messy, I get it her life is messy but there's a certain feeling you get from her, you're supposed to be at ease, calm while she is slowly building tension until it breaks, and that's now how it was put it's explosion there, explosion on that part, it's climax everywhere. But the biggest mistake this movie made was not putting I'll be seeing you, like come on it was her most passionate and enchanting song, All of me a masterpiece but I'll be seeing you a feeling, memories, love, and beauty. So well it was nice but Billie Holiday can be portrayed more better than this film shows.
