A completely surreal yet stunning film exploring art, obsession & many more ideas. I find this one hard to rate, as I can easily see myself giving this a much higher rating on rewatch. There are many elements to this film, and a truly disturbing final act that is excellently built up too, showing a slow decent into alcoholism/insanity from the main protagonist, who is seemingly only driven by the strange character of Barbara, who completely captivated him.
Overall, one which I believe would benefit a rewatch so I can really pay attention to previous details/elements I may have missed. Even still, this is an extremely interesting slow-burn of a film that is very unique. I could see people saying this is a masterpiece even, and I may agree once I’ve really thought about it and perhaps watch again.
