❝Who cares if we don't see the sun shine ever again? I want you more than any blue sky. The weather can go crazy.❞

I watched Weathering With You years and years ago, and I remembered next to nothing about it, so this rewatch felt like going into it fresh. Of Makoto Shinkai's disaster trilogy, I'd have to say this is my least favourite by far, but that's not to say it's completely bad; to me, it feels like a recycled Your Name. with worse protagonists and kinda disappointing writing. Hina felt very much like someone's dream and objectified manic pixie girl (which is just gross, she's 14), and I just couldn't get on board with Hodaka. The ending just ragebaited me, too; they really let people drown and ruined countless lives to be together. However, the visuals were absolutely gorgeous, full of bright jewel colours and fluid animation that was so satisfying to watch. The soundtrack was also really nice, and the voice-acting wasn't that bad, either; that being said, though, I think I'll stick to the other films in the trilogy.
