Acho que como um conceito/sinopse o filme é bom demais, mas não tenho certeza quanto à execução dele. As partes cruciais do filme chamam atenção, mas o desenvolvimento da trama é lento e muitas cenas parecem apenas desnecessárias, como as de sexo que não acabavam nunca.
Eu me preocupo com as atrizes mirins que tiveram que fazer as cenas que fizeram. Vi algumas das entrevistas BTS com a diretora e achei ela uma pé no saco, se vangloriando por ser perfeccionista e mandona com o cast, inclusive nas cenas desconfortáveis de nudez. Desnecessário.
O final foi chocante e fez o resto valer a pena. Foi uma mudança brusca de tom e surpreende muito quem assiste às cegas - quase que de terror. Serviu como um espelho pro resto do filme. As duas sempre estiveram em perigo, não importando a aparência, fosse por um maníaco com um machado ou por um predador sexual.

I enjoy transgressive film and understand that I do not endorse everything I see obviously but this film made me question myself for appreciating it so much... this is art and I'm engaging with it the best way i could think to

Another fucked up French film for Bleak Week!! I do not know how I feel about the ending.. i think it was a little too much and not executed very well. Like this really came out of left field. My jaw was dropped. Also the actress playing Anais was literally a child and had to endure that?? I think I would've used body doubles or framed the shots differently. I can't support that young girl with NO prior acting experience or mentors having to do all of that. This is next level boundary pushing and i'm so conflicted and defeated trying to figure out how I feel. The ending does connect to things we saw previously pertaining to Anais's character development so for that I appreciated it💔 aside from that, wow the way this whole 3rd act built anxiety and fear in me was something else, especially the mom's irritability mixed with the shots of her erratic driving. Loved the shot between 2 semi trucks. This really shook me up. Everything about this is wrong but the message behind it is true and it's scary to be a woman. My heart was aching for Anais. She witnessed so much traumatizing shit against her will. I admired her ability to understand the patriarchy and all of its problems through everything. Her refusal to become a victim was also interesting. This was .. a lot. I need like 5 more days to think 😭😭

I feel like r4pe isn't often depicted in ways that aren't blatantly violent, drugged, or kidnappy. This movie demonstrates it in the form of coercion and obviously the fact ts was STATUTORY 😩🤢 there are some sick twisted mental games people play to take advantage and this depicted that very well

One of the shots I found really interesting and stuck out to me was towards the end in the car, the camera pans to Anais's lower region and there's a mess of food/crumbs on there. To me, this again showed her love and dependency on food and how far away she is from the shit her sister was doing (so we thought).. basically how she's in a different place right now, has seen some shit, and she's leaning on food

The score on this was so out of place I hated it

I had to really sit on this before rating and reviewing it… it was an interesting story about adolescence and how being fat with skinny peers (her sister in this case) who seem to get partners so easily can feel… how she seemed to have such a blasse attitude towards sex, the depiction of the predator boyfriend’s obvious manipulation of her sister; how he was so easily able to manipulate her into having sex with him, but also showing that he’s not as mature as he seems to them (his toddler like pouting behavior when he doesn’t get his way, him stealing his mom’s ring to give to Elena). And the scene with the sisters just giggling and reminiscing , finally seeming like sisters with an actual bond was sweet! I mean, some siblings really do hate each other, so it’s not unrealistic, but I just got so mad and sad seeing Elena constantly degrading Anais. Final act was sad as hell, but I could easily watch this movie again and find things to like about it, as you can see. Just maybe skipping the end lol
