A pretty mystical and folkloric Soviet horror film with some fantastic physical effects and some rather creepy elements. I liked the overall story but did find the first half an hour ish to be slightly long; the last 20 minutes definitely made up for that however, with all the fantastic pieces of physical effects. I did actually like the low-budget feel of it, all the silly looking effects really worked with the weirdness of it all and made for quite an enjoyable horror film. I’m glad I gave it a go, was very interesting! (Also what a terrific poster that is)
