Holy damn...
This thing is messy! While I did manage to draw some entertainment out of the less surreal moments and some of the cringy, over the top performances, this feels at the same time derivative and wholly original. The green screen work is not only bad, but useless, the editing between scenes and scenarios is nauseating, the acting feel like a result of only doing one unrehearsed take and while the film clearly thinks it doesn't take sides or give answers, it does so all the time.
Darkroom doesn't seem to know what it wants to be, say, or do. This is surrealism and stylistic choices done wrong. Worst thing of all, though: I could have sworn it was two and a half hours long after exiting. It's wasn't.
