Can’t believe the Who’s Line host directed this. Crazy.

LOVE that this is just like, “Fuck you. Movie’s already started.” Didn’t know I was late. Zombies roaring like it’s Jurassic Park. Random people showing up. Just getting to it. Start your scene as late as possible? Start your movie as late as possible.

Unfortunately, there’s a little too much jungle action DNA and/or a misunderstanding of Dawn’s appeal. The shrouded zombies are like sluggish ninjas. The gore isn’t really there until the end. It’s still pretty fun but it starts off hot and kinda coasts. You get a few fun moments, some good shots, and an unremarkable but pretty groovy soundtrack. Really just needed some oomph in the action or the horror to push it into Hell Yeah territory.

I saw the band Fulci tonight and so I wanted something in the maestro’s vein. Not the strongest Zombi but a decent outing for the director. By no means a bad time.

"Those are the times that really count for something in a man's life. When you discover if you've got balls or not"

-Probably one of the most boring films i have ever seen, i hated this. Never wanted a movie to end so bad.I deeply regret buying this on blu ray.

After Death
1989 | Italian Horror | Zombies

"After Death - Oltre la morte" has nothing to do with the "Zombi" series, but is more or less an unofficial "Zombie 4" and in that sense much better than "Zombi 3".

The film opens with a catchy song and the first 15-20 minutes are surprisingly promising and offer good gore and nice atmosphere, but the film quickly loses its drive as it falls into the same stupid and boring storylines and shenanigans as its predecessor, but still is more consistent and more logical in itself. Of course, the plot is pretty nonsensical again and the same goes for the characters, but less bad, annoying and boring than in the previous one. The score is pretty good and driving and creates a nice atmosphere and the bit of gore there is looks great.

The zombies bothered me here because they look and behave like ninjas, talk and shoot guns and therefore feel a little silly and not really like zombies.

"After Death - Oltre la morte" is better than its quasi predecessor, but still not a good film. It has it’s moments, especially the beginning is quite well done, but the film does not manage to keep the atmosphere and tension over the entire runtime and has nothing to make it stand out in any way.
