it was quiet and slow but in a way that really worked, it didn’t feel like a movie trying too hard, it just flowed naturally and let you sit with everything, like you’re drifting alongside fern in her van.
frances mcdormand was good in the role, she barely had to say anything and you could still feel every emotion she was carrying, and the way the real nomads were included made it feel even more honest and grounded, like part documentary part fiction.
but i won’t lie, it didn’t hit me that hard emotionally, i appreciated it more than i actually felt it, like i get what it was trying to do, and i think it’s beautiful, but it’s not something i’d watch again soon, just one of those films you respect.
