A super uncomfortable sit, not for reasons akin to the DiScOuRsE that swept through right-wing social media, but because every woman remembers the youthful angst that came with trying to grow up too fast. I mean, somefriends and I did a lip-sync to Lady Marmalade at summer camp when we were 13... who allowed this?!!

Not everything in this movie clicks, but it’s an earnest and well-made debut by a talented up and coming filmmaker unfairly caught in the crossfire of unwarranted outrage.

In all the noise my imagination had something far worse being presented. Instead I got a beautiful coming of age story. You see what you look for, you bring what you take with you. A heartbreaking spiral, an 11 year old Macbeth. Wonderful performances. [A-]
