❝Life must not be spent always hoping, always waiting. Life is for living.❞

I've always liked reading books, and one author who I loved when I was younger was Michael Morpurgo; I read almost every book of his. Of them all, there a couple that have always stayed with me, and 'Kensuke's Kingdom' was one of them. So I was very excited when I found this film. The story's been changed slightly, but the magic is still there. It's charming and heartbreaking, featuring a great voice cast and music. The one issue I had was the animation. To be honest, it looked a bit shoddy and it wasn't a good style to show minute changes in facial expressions. The animation used during the scene where Kensuke reminisces about his past, though, was gorgeous, and I wish the rest of the film could've been as beautiful. However, I still really enjoyed this adaptation of a classic, and I hope this is a precursor for more Morpurgo films (crossing my fingers for a 'Kaspar' one).
