okay so I'll be real, sky told me what I was recording was the 1995 Castle Freak. the description mentioned stuart gordon, the preview images were of jeffrey combs and barbara crampton. the next night I press play and I'm seeing something that looks like an episode of Supernatural. but I go with it because why would sky straight up lie to me?
another half hour goes by, I'm thinking it looks way too modern and there's no sign of jeff and barb, I google it and lo and behold there's a 2020 remake I knew nothing about.

thanks sky, appreciate it, the original better also have a scene of the castle freak himself audibly busting a nut untouched or I'm gonna be real pissed I had to witness that for no reason. why did it sound so goopy???

DAY TWENTY-EIGHT OF 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN
Not as good as Stuart Gordon's Reanimator or From Beyond, but it does have its moments. The freak is great and Jeffrey Combs is brilliant as usual. The film has peppers of slow and dumb scenes and with that sudden and unsatisfying of an ending, I find myself liking it a lot less than expected.
