cutest beginning and end to a movie ive ever seen with the worst middle on planet earth.
grigg and jocelyn had a great story, perhaps im biased but their relationship was fun and i can and did happily get behind it with great satisfaction when they did obviously get together in the end.
allegras was good too. only gripe is she was 100% in the right to break up and hate corrine, that was cartoonishly evil of her to do
bernadette was great, she is so fun and i pray i meet my own bernadette irl and become great friends with her, everyone needs a bernadette
slyvia deserves a thousand times better and daniel should not have been forgiven. the whole movie basically preaches why a man like him is the worst and rightfully so, only to redeem him in the end bc he wrote One letter? one letter undoes months of secret cheating with a 20 year old who is probably around the age of his daughter, divorcing his wife and moving in with said 20 yr old???? i dont think so
And then. Theres Prudie. her growth and reconciliation with her husband by the end is soured by every step it took to get her there. not one apology is issued from her for how she treats the other book club members, her haughty attitude is entirely overlooked by the end, and that is before we even BEGIN to touch on the fact she kissed, and planned to do much more with her EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD STUDENT??? forgive me but i would sooner tear out my own tongue to swallow it whole before i took that role, let alone write it. i did not need to see that on my tv screen thank you very much. plus, her husband and her didnt get along at all, their arc is entirely unbelievable as much as id like to imagine it could be. he heard one line and dropped fifa for it, id love to see that irl
at least hugh dancy was tanned and cute.....
