Welp there were parts of this that I liked but unfortunately there were a lot of parts that I didn’t like. And after doing some research and seeing what black women have to say about this movie I can definitely see all of the flaws this movie has and the negative implications it shares to its audience. And also the second half of this movie is just bad. This movie truly does have some potential and if a woman of color rewrote and directed this, this could have some serious Jennifers Body vibes going on. I want to see more of Elle Lorraine and I desperately wanted to see more of Laverne Cox 😭

is it watch a good movie day or what? imagine thinking you’re having a bad hair day, but there’s someone out there whose hair is literally killing people. my girl just wanted to look good, and i can’t blame her. but maybe sometimes it’s best to embrace your hair and not change it because of other’s opinions. who knows, your fake hair might end up being bad?

I mean, the idea is great. I really like where this is coming from, but I don’t think it leans enough into either horror or comedy to really work for me. I love this unusual sort of body horror, but please please please make it campier :(
