pretty harrowing case of csa. it’s so interesting and yet really really sad to watch this all unfold. it feels a bit weird at some points with what the mom recollects sasha saying as a child, but i’m sure it’s well intentioned. that sasha and bekah were able to move on and heal from all of this is extraordinary. family is supposed to be what protects you and yet in this case they are the ones that let them down. pretty intense watch and all the home videos leave you feeling a little empty.

Child sexual abuse prosecutions are some of the most emotionally fraught and high stakes work that I do, but I never cease to be amazed by the strength and bravery exhibited by survivors to speak up and confront their abusers. Also a sobering reminder that sexual abuse is often inter-generational.

What a cathartic and harrowing experience making this film must have been for Sasha and his family.
