This is a review of the new Romeo and Juliet PLAY, not this film or any other film
Okay, so I’m well aware most people are seeing this play so they can see Sadie Sink in person, and I thought, because of that, that the play would probably suck. It never occurred to me that Sadie Sink might also be an incredible actress. But she was. This play was so fucking good man. Even with my extremely low expectations, I was blown away. It even almost made me cry at the ending man. And I probably would’ve bawled my eyes out if I wasn’t surrounded by like a hundred other people. It took everything I had to hold the weeping back. They started playing the song “not a lot, just forever”, which I luckily had never heard before, but is apparently a really famous song on tiktok. Anyway, that shit hit HARD, the ending happening and those lyrics my guy. I only remember 2 lyrics but they fit the ending extremely well, and as I said, it almost made me cry. (The lyrics were: “I could be a good mother” and “I wanna be your wife”. There were a ton other that fit too but I lowkey forgot all of them and cant be asked to look the lyrics up) Anyway, Romeo is probably my favorite character of all time, which is weird because I am NOTHING like him, yet I deeply, DEEPLY relate to him. Romeo has become, and always has been a core part of me, I just never knew. And Noah Jupe plays him WONDERFULLY. Juliet was amazing too, and Sadie played her extremely well but Romeo really steals the scene here. And as I’m writing this, I currently have Shakespeare’s original play in my lap and am about to read it, so wish me luck. Anyhow, extremely grateful I got to see this play, and you definitely should go see it too if you get the chance
