If this was just its own movie and not a sequel, it would have been 5 stars.

Pretty entertaining and enjoyable and can’t wait to see the next one. Looks like Donny was eating a lot of croissants in the meantime lol.

2 Pantera 2 Furious. “What if Heat but they are homies” is an unimpeachable premise made even better when you throw in a diamond heist and set it in Nice. Gudegast trades LA grit and grime for a sleek Euro-crime aesthetic, and though the tonal shift took me a bit to get used to, I was more than won over by the time Gerard Butler was dancing crossfaded at a club in a Hawaiian polo. Much like its predecessor the runtimes either overlong or ambitious? Not sure which. Maybe both? Takes its time setting things up but once it gets to the heist it’s holding your breath, edge of your seat, nail-biting shit. When Big Nick and Donnie drunkenly hop on scooters in Europe and then sit down yearning about their past is what films were made for. Great stuff!
