didnt particularly hate the film but i felt like all of its plotlines were just very average....and of course henry golding is really a treat to watch but... i just felt that more of a performance could be drawn out as opposed to this stoic, disconnect vibe both henry’s character and the script has. again, i didnt hate it but i wish there was more fire; even in its depiction of loneliness and trangenerational trauma.
Another letterboxd user refered to the ending as “the end of episode 1” i kinda agree. there really isnt much of a substantial ending to the film; felt like a scene they decided to cut on.
