I respect the vision. You forgetting you have someone to take care of until the moment it’s too late? Especially with the main character observing it on others and then slowly realising he’s a victim too? That’s great. Also props that they didn’t shy away from child murder. It’s just an honest shame that it didn’t work out like at all. The acting was mid, the way the plot was presented felt bland, the characters are all annoying especially the protagonist and many scenes felt redundant. Wouldn’t recommend but would make for a good book for sure

I kinda feel like nothing really happened with this one like it’s predictable and overall has a lot of plot holes but I will say the visuals are pretty fun and the practical effects make it worth the watch for me

fun, not amazing but did make me put the rest on after i fell asleep so had me somewhat hooked

There's a "made with a child audience in mind" vibe, as with a lot of PG-13-esque horror movies, this is reminiscent of Haunting Hour/Goosebumps. Soundtrack made it hard to take some scenes serious ngl

The creature's pretty interesting, a mimic-type, it comes from the woods and is born of root, rock, and tree, those it consumes becomes forgotten by all... nice concepts & themes in this that never really reach their potential. Deer skull imagery was cool, the symbol that the creature carves into whatever it needs to use(?) is nice and simple, though it's more cute than scary to me ← issues-haver
