«Tunellen» (The Tunnel) - An advertisement for road safety
Tunellen is a Norwegian thriller, that has good production value, as well as a good moral, this movie is a long advertisement for road safety in tunnels, and "Statens Vegvesen" (the federal roads administration in the U.S.) really appreciated this movie to be made.
It’s a unique movie, a theme which most movie makers don’t even think about making, because of the easy/"boring" theme. If we compare it to the other (unofficial) movies "Bølgen, Skjelvet, Nordsjøen", this one is the "worst" out of the four subjectivity, because of the plot, and inconsistencies in visual effects, and some cliche writing.
There are also unnecessary characters, like the "emo" kid, doesn’t do anything really except saying a few unimportant words for the plot. The subplot of the strict father, and the playful son, is also, unnecessary.
I didn’t enjoy the cinematography as much in this one as the others, because the lens felt too clean, for the dirty environment. The previous movies were grainy, dirty.
As I live in Norway, and I’m a Norwegian native, I am a huge fan of the setting, and drone shots in this movie. As well as I liked the main father and daughter, since I felt that they were very natural in the way they act with eachother.
Overall though? 6/10, not incredible, but would recommend because of the unique plot.
