Double Happiness

I did not even knew this movie existed before today, yet i find it is a new favorite after watching. I'm a huge Grey's fan and Sandra has always been my favorite, so naturally i try and watch her stuff when i come across it. I knew she got her start out in Canadian film, but i had never really looked much into it. I was in the mood for a romance film and went on criterion channel and i saw Sandra's face and decided to give this a go, and my word is she sooo talented! this isn't news to me by any means, but DAMN. My heart felt so torn through all of this. It reminded me a bit of Saving Face. Family and culture movies have a habit of doing that to me.

I too would have fallen in love with Mark against the wishes of my parents.

This is a solid movie all around. Nothing particularly special but Canadian films will always hold a place in my heart. It was really interesting seeing a movie set in Vancouver too and not just having been filmed there considering so many movies are filmed there but set elsewhere. It’s also especially cool because I live so close, it felt really familiar and definitely made me connect with the movie and its characters to a greater degree. Can confirm, there are still men from Vancouver like Mark, I’ve met too many.
