In the quiet little town of Allburg, friends Lucy and Cindy are on the verge of going away to college when they partake in a cleansing ritual by swimming in an abandoned church crypt. After Lucy accidentally drops her crucifix in the water, it drifts down and awakens the ancient vampire Czakyr, who becomes thirsty for Lucy's virgin blood.

Distant third to Sundown and Return To Salem’s Lot but similar wackadoo vampire comedy. Performance-ruining teeth prosthetics and exposition sledgehammer dialogue mar Fango’s admirable aim of goofy effects fun. There’s some great stuff but it’s overall kinda shaky. Love the cop. [BILLY SQUISHES] was a particularly great closed caption.

Note: the copy on Prime is a shuddering tape rip. I assume this only exists in its 4:3 scanline version but I’d rewatch a cleaner copy. There was a straight up dead pixel twitching at one point.
