The film captures that intimacy beautifully, never feeling performative or distant. It feels like a quiet conversation you have with yourself on your loneliest days.

I really like how this film made me see life from the perspective of someone who has grown old. Isak may look successful on the outside, but he feels deeply lonely. Even his mother is shown living alone, which makes the loneliness feel almost generational. Through the dream sequences and flashbacks, I could really see his inner life his regrets, memories, and emotional distance. The actor who played Isak was incredible, everything he wanted to convey truly reached me.

The dream sequences, especially the opening scene, were always the highlight for me and all the surreal imagery truly makes this film stand out in his filmography. There's something about the simplicity in this film which makes it so soothing to the eyes and rather relaxing in a way. Not a surprise that this film is absolutely goldbevausd of the forever legendary director behind it. Tremendous.
