“Hey, let’s do a carbon copy sequel of a great movie, but worse” is how I imagined the pitch for this went.

Inside Man: Most Wanted
It’s kinda crazy how much better Rhea Seehorn is than any other performer here. Unfortunately it doesn’t even grace what Spike Lee and the cast were able to achieve in the original, even though I liked the concept here the storyline is a lot less compelling, the performers (outside of Seehorn of course) were very noticeably worse, and a good portion of the writing was just so stale. There’s a level to this story that I enjoyed but it leaned way too far in not only trying to replicate the first but trying to connect the story to the first. I saw there was a sequel with a brand new cast and crew, and although that was a bit concerning I liked the idea of watching a fresh heist movie just set in this universe but those attempted connections just made it a bad sequel. Wanted more from this but I can’t say I’m too surprised I didn’t get it.
