Wonderful, it’s the first time a film with such a slow and calm rhythm has managed to involve me this much.

It’s visually stunning at every moment, starting with the beautiful shots of the opening sequence; the characters come across clearly despite the few, but always meaningful, lines.

The whole film is imbued with a subtle eroticism that I really loved, both in the more explicit scenes and in the dialogue.

There are also many brief scenes that reminded me of ASMR videos, like the one in which Marina washes her father’s hair, but also the one where his body is passed under the X-rays, which are truly beautiful and fit perfectly within the narrative.

A story of two young, slightly weird besties in a small industrial town, and how one of them was raised (lovingly, but not well) by a single father who is now at the end of his life. The women study the bleak world around them with an anthropological eye just like their hero, Sir David Attenborough, and they're trying in their way to get to full adulthood as fast as they can, while making up silly dances, and talking about boys as if they were 10 years younger than they are.

The pacing is odd and not for everyone, and yes, you do get to see plenty of nekkid Yorgos Lanthimos, but there certainly is a neurodivergent charm to the whole exercise, and Ariane Labed is skillful at bridging the gap between staying emotionally stunted and nurturing a desire to learn & grow.
