Ponytailed Jack Nicholson is in a band called mumblin joe, eatin’ acid all the live-long day in 60’s san fran, til a deaf girl (who doesnt ever inform people that she’s deaf until things get awkward) comes along tryna find her brother. Nicholson is the rational one for once, and strawberry alarm clock and the seeds comprise most of the soundtrack. 

I know that sounds awesome, but the first half hour or so misses the vibe by overloading you with cliche montage shots and god talk, and then a guy with mutton chops tries to power saw his own hand off. So y’know, it gets there eventually.

Adam Rourke (who you might remember as the museum security guard from Return From Witch Mountain) is pretty alright in this, so I’m gonna peruse his filmography a bit. 
Also Dean Stockwell ( who you might remember as the valet attendant in Once Bitten) has some pretty top-notch dialogue. 
Oh and bruce “this months warren oats” dern is in it. 
Far out.
