Watched this for Pop Smoke and Taylour Paige, and instead found myself watching one of the worst written and most amateurish movies I’ve ever seen. Give this premise to a competent writer and director and recast the actors and this could have been decent, but as is it’s atrocious. The character of Alfred is uninteresting and is written so poorly. The acting is terrible, especially Taylor Takahashi who is totally wooden. The high-school characters also all look like they’re 30, which they basically are, and it’s very distracting. There were just so many lines of dialogue that made me roll my eyes or audibly groan, and there was barely anything redeeming.
