I won’t lie when I say my face is wet after completing C’mon C’mon in what was an extremely emotional and intimate film on familial relationships. This is one of Phoenix’s best performances and I’m now mad at all the awards snubs for this film. Woody Norman as Jesse turns in one of the elite child actor performances of the decade thus far and has tremendous chemistry with Phoenix’s Johnny.

This movie was great. Great screenplay and the love you have for the characters by the end is incredible. At first the black and white wasn’t for me, but by the end I came to appreciate it. You don’t need color to tell this story. Joaquin Phoenix does an incredible job and this is definitely in my top 3 of his performances. This movie shows what an adult can provide for a kid and even more so what a kid can provide for an adult. Great movie

A bit disappointing. Joaquin‘s performance isn’t his best, a bit too much eclectic uncle. Themes are still strong and the interviews with the kids are moving. Also miss me with the black and white - doesn’t feel necessary
