In classic Douglas Sirk fashion, All I Desire is an emotional drama with beautiful cinematography and brilliant writing. Barbara Stanwyck is incredible in this film. There’s a certain scene where Stanwyck’s character is looking up at her daughter, whom she left over 10 years ago. She gazes into the camera with misty eyes, as her daughter thanks her for coming to her play. A beautifully crafted film from start to finish.
