i love when filmmakers aren’t afraid to get weird w it, which is ironic because the “weird” elements of this futuristic world are probably the weakest part of the film for me. the story is where all the heart can be found, and there’s a LOT of it.
haley joel osment, man. i usually don’t feel as invested with child protagonists, but he manages to carry this entire film on his back (and with ease).
visually breathtaking, tragic, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and a dynamite performance. spielberg doesn’t miss!!! probably my least favorite from him, as of lately, but like still, he does not miss.
