The absurdity level is so good. Great representation of how the resiliency of the filipinos becomes disturbing when it’s too much.

Tbh not much to say about this one mostly because the film seems to want to stir that kind of reaction, so much can be said about tragedy in different forms especially on film but Whether the Weather is Fine takes a different approuch to your usual disaster flick, besides Melancholia this is one of the more artful depictions of a disaster out there on film which makes it equally a tribute and a deconstruction of the real life events with as much empathy as it does a slightly surreal touch that surpisingly remains in tone and heightens the reality of whats going on here and quite like the reality the film doesn't shine away from being honest which does lead to a somewhat dissatisying ending but it makes its point loud and clear while remaining a expression of harden and soft tenderness that makes the characters here extremely relatable even at their most extreme and flawed. Didn't love this as much as I hope but for what its going for I like pretty much everything here especially the cinematography and eccentric music but it just never clicked into one piece but sometimes that's okay and clearly here its still loosely glued together by a sense of sincerity that generates as much witty observation as it does a geniue pain for all involved that makes this worth a watch
