I had some hope for this one because of the cast and concept that seemed simple but enjoyable. Unfortunately though, even with it meeting my expectations of simplicity I can’t say it was too enjoyable overall. Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne provided most of my enjoyment, the latter was the better of the pair but he wasn’t in the movie much, I lost a lot of interest in this when he wasn’t on the screen. Amber Midthunder was decent enough, I’ve seen her in other things and I don’t think she’s a bad actress I just don’t think she’s worked with many good scripts. The low budget does a number on it visually which is pretty wild considering half of the whole movie is close ups of people driving trucks but the CGI was noticeably poor at points. I think I’m just not a fan of the flash forward to an emotional scene months after the story ending, it just doesn’t work for me and I think it would’ve been better off ending right before that. The script was stale, Laurence was the only one elevating it but like I said he wasn’t in it much, Liam did his thing like usual though and that was enough to keep me around for the whole runtime. Basic and not very well written with subpar visuals and a story I didn’t much care for, I get why it worked for some but it fell short for me.
